Bereavement is one of the most stressful life events that people go through. Planning how to say goodbye or celebrate the life of a loved one can be a difficult and anxious process. Here at St James we want to minimize any additional burdens during the arrangements of the funeral and support the family and friends during this time.
Below are links to our funeral planning paperwork which have suggestions of what you may want to think about including (or not including) and the suggested readings which fit with the Anglican liturgy.
Sometimes the funeral planning process can be helped if the person has shared their wishes or made plans for their funeral in advance. If you are viewing this page for interest rather than because you are recently bereaved we would also encourage you to look at the readings and think about sharing with your family or writing down what readings or songs or other requests you might have for your own funeral.
If you have just experienced the death of a loved one please know that we are here to help you. Whatever your experience with the church has been we are here for you and will do all we can to assist you with a Christian Funeral.
