Welcome to our website!
St James is an Anglican Church in Willow Glen, but we attract a congregation from around the Bay Area.
When we launched St James in 2009 it was with the hope of providing a spiritual home for many people. If you are looking for a spiritual home we hope you will come visit us.
Below you will find brief further information designed for those thinking of visiting us, but do have a look around the other areas of the website to find out further information about us and what we are doing!
Services:
We hope you will visit us on a Sunday, and look forward to meeting you. We understand that visiting a church for the first time can be an anxious moment and we want you to feel welcome and relaxed while you explore whether St James is the right church for you. On your arrival you will be greeted near the front door and given a service bulletin which allows you to follow along easily.
We have two Sunday morning worship services, each followed by coffee time in the adjacent Duncan Hall:
9:00 AM service- A traditional Anglican service of Holy Communion with Organ music and traditional hymns.
10:30 AM service- Contemporary worship music and modern liturgy including Holy Communion.
If you want to find out more about our services click on the links above.
Getting to St James:
Services are held at 1565 Lincoln Ave, Willow Glen, San Jose (Please note that our mailing address is 1571 Lincoln Ave).
There are bus stops for the number 62 bus close to the church and we are a short walk from downtown Willow Glen.
Parking:
There is street parking near the church and about 5 spaces immediately behind the church for people with new babies or physical disabilities. The space immediately in front of the church is reserved for drop off / pick up.
Children:
We welcome children of all ages into our worship service. We value their presence here as Jesus welcomed children in His ministry on earth. Children are still learning to be respectful and reverent in church so please be patient as we welcome them into the rhythms of the liturgy as they begin a life of worship.
We offer Children’s Bibles, bulletins, and sensory toys to help busy hands and minds during the service. Childcare is available for children 0-5 years old to allow their parents to focus on worship. Each of us has a role to play in helping children grow in grace and the knowledge of God as we lead by the example of our worship and our lives.
Sunday School is held once a month for kids 5 years and older. If you're interested in having your child attend Sunday School, wish to volunteer, or simply find out more, please contact Ginny Barry at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
