This Sunday's Gospel is John 15:1-8 and contains another "I Am" statement. Like "I am The Good Shepherd" from last week, this week's "I am The True Vine" reveals to us an important truth about our relationship with Jesus, the point of this relationship, and the price he pays for it. Hint: Jesus gets pruned and God is not radically inclusive. God is love, and that is far more wonderful and terrifying

In John 15:9-17 Jesus gives his disciples a new commandment. They are to love one another as he has loved them. This Sunday Fr. Ed will explain how Anglicanism reflects and relies upon the New Commandment more so than other denominations. This is not to say that the Anglican Way is superior to other Christian Denominations, but rather that Anglicanism's charisms and crisis's rest on our fulfillment of or failure to fulfill Jesus' New Commandment.
