The St. James Children’s Ministry Team's mission is threefold:
To show Children the Love of Christ — Church should be the best place in the world, especially for kids, because it gives us a glimpse of Heaven.
To teach the Word of God as quoted in the Scriptures — It's hard to know God if if you don't know what He has said.
- To explain Anglican and Christian traditions — Why do we take communion? Why does the priest wear a green scarf (stole) most of the time? Why do we celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Halloween? Come to Sunday School and find out.
We do these things to help children to know in their hearts that they need Christ in their lives. We want your child to feel accepted, loved, and safe while in their Sunday School class each week.
Children Ages 4-11 Sunday School begins at 9am and 10:30 am.
Our Sunday School meets next door in the "back house" and is taught by Shannon Baker. Shannon loves kids and is great with them. If you are visiting with children you are welcome to sit in on the Sunday School as long as you would like. We welcome parents. Everyone who helps with our Sunday School undertakes training and a background check.
Children are brought into the church to sit with their parents after the sermon, so they may receive communion together, and worship with the rest of the congregation.
Children too young for Sunday School have the option of staying with their parents in church or playing in our staffed nursery in the Church.
